Platinum Grooming Pawlour is a small shop on South Main Street run by two groomers who have been at this a long time. Carlene Nabors and Helen Goad met working the grooming table at PetSmart about ten years ago, stayed best friends, and in March 2026 opened their own place so they could groom the way they see fit. Full grooms, bath and brush, nails, ears and deshedding, for dogs and for cats, priced by size with nothing hidden.
There are two ways to book here. A Full Groom is the whole thing, bath, haircut, nails, ears and finish work. A Bath and Brush is the clean up without the haircut, which is what most short coated dogs actually need. Both are priced by weight, and the price you see is the price. If you are not sure which one your dog needs, call and describe the coat, we will tell you honestly rather than upselling you.
The complete service. Bath, blow out, haircut, nail trim, ear cleaning and finish work, tailored to your dog's coat and how you like it kept. Small 0 to 20 lbs is $60, Medium 21 to 40 lbs is $75, Large 41 to 60 lbs is $95, X-large 61 to 80 lbs is $110, Giant 81 to 100 lbs is $130.
Bath, thorough brush out, blow dry, nails and ears, no haircut. This is the right call for short coated and smooth coated dogs, and for the long coated ones between full grooms. Small $40, Medium $50, Large $60, X-large $70, Giant $80, by the same weight tiers.
Yes, we take cats. Short hair cat bath and brush is $60, long hair is $70. Cats are handled patiently and on their own clock, and long haired cats in particular do much better with regular appointments than with one rescue mission a year once the mats have set in.
Included in every full groom and every bath and brush, no separate line item. Nails get taken back carefully rather than all at once on a dog who is nervous about feet, and ears get cleaned and checked. If we see something in an ear that does not look right, we will tell you so you can have your vet look.
For the double coated breeds that blow their undercoat twice a year and cover your house doing it. A proper deshedding bath and blow out pulls an astonishing amount of dead coat before it ends up on your furniture. Ask for it when you book and we will work it into the appointment.
A puppy's first few visits set the tone for the rest of their life on a grooming table, so we take those slowly and keep them positive. Same for the older dogs and the ones who have had a bad experience somewhere. Tell us what your dog is like when you book so we can give them the right amount of time.
Carlene and Helen are both Mansfield natives. They met on the grooming floor at PetSmart about a decade ago, became best friends, and eventually decided to do it themselves. Hope Scott grooms here too and has been at it six years. The name is not a marketing choice, Platinum honors Carlene's late father, who ran a Mansfield business called Platinum Status. Keeping that name alive is part of why this shop exists.
Pick Full Groom or Bath and Brush and your dog's weight tier, and the price is right there before you confirm. If you would rather talk to a person, call (567) 479-3555 and we will get you on the book.
Breed, coat, how they do on a table, whether they have been groomed before, and how you like the cut. If your dog is nervous or it is a puppy's first time, say so, we will build in extra time rather than rushing them through it.
One dog at a time gets our attention. Bath, dry, the cut or the brush out, nails and ears. We are at 446 South Main Street, and parking is right there.
We will tell you anything we noticed on the skin, in the ears or in the coat, and when to come back so the coat stays ahead of the mats instead of behind them. Then you book the next one before you leave, which is the easiest way to stay on schedule.
Platinum Grooming Pawlour opened on March 3, 2026 at 446 South Main Street in Mansfield. Co-owners Carlene Nabors and Helen Goad are both Mansfield natives who started out together as groomers at PetSmart about ten years ago. Carlene has seventeen years of grooming behind her, Helen has ten, and Hope Scott, who grooms here as an independent pet stylist, has six. What they wanted from their own shop was the freedom to groom properly. As Helen put it, grooming is an art in itself and there are so many ways to do it, and the point of having your own place is finding what actually helps each dog rather than running everyone through the same template. The Platinum in the name is for Carlene's late father, who owned a Mansfield business called Platinum Status. This is a family built shop in the plainest sense, and the family put in the long days getting the space ready.
We are open Tuesday through Friday from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm and Saturday from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm. We are closed Sunday and Monday. Appointments are booked ahead, and there is a 24 hour cancellation policy, so please give us a day's notice if something comes up.
We are at 446 South Main Street in Mansfield, with parking right at the shop. Easy to reach from Lexington, Ontario, Shelby, Bellville and Ashland. Call (567) 479-3555 and we will find your dog a spot.
Tell us your dog's name, roughly what they weigh, what kind of coat they have and whether you want a full groom or a bath and brush.
